The short answer

What is a good ProBot alternative for logging?

Quark is a Discord bot built only for logging, and it runs alongside ProBot. ProBot's pricing page lists “Executioner in logs”, the person behind an action, and voice move and disconnect logs as premium features. Quark names the moderator and the reason on bans, kicks, timeouts and role changes on its free plan, and logs voice moves there too.

Key facts

  • ProBot's pricing page lists “Executioner in logs”, the person behind an action, under Premium Tier 1.
  • ProBot's pricing page also lists voice move and voice disconnect logs under Premium.
  • Quark names the moderator and the reason on bans, kicks, timeouts and role changes on the free plan.
  • Quark has 102 log types. ProBot's documentation lists 27.
  • Quark runs next to ProBot, so you can keep its welcome images and levels.
  • Quark is used in 112,000+ Discord servers.

You don't have to switch

Keep ProBot for welcome images, levels and automod, and give the logging to Quark. The two run side by side. Switch off the logs in ProBot's dashboard once Quark is posting so you don't get every event twice.

When ProBot's logs are enough

ProBot gives every one of its logs its own channel and colour without a subscription, which Quark keeps for its paid plans. If that matters more to you than seeing who did something, ProBot's logs may be all you need.

Coverage

If it happens in your server, Quark logs it.

Quark has 102 log types, and every one of them is on the free plan.

“The reason we choose Quark was because of its logging, can directly see images that get deleted, and the logging is really fast. You can simply type one command and have everything set up.”

ProBot alternative FAQ

Yes. Quark only handles logging, so it does not clash with ProBot's welcome images, levels or automod. Run both, and switch off the logs in ProBot's dashboard so each event is only logged once.

Yes, on the free plan. Quark reads Discord's audit log so that a ban, kick, timeout or role change is logged with the moderator and the reason. The one exception is server mutes and deafens in voice: those are logged on every plan, and Quark Pro adds who did it.

ProBot's documentation gives each of its logs a channel and an embed colour. On Quark's free plan each category of log has its own channel. A channel for any single log type, and custom log colours, are part of Quark Pro Lite and Quark Pro.

No. Quark does not do welcome images, levels, embeds or starboards. It has /ban, /kick, /mute and /purge, tags, and rules that act on your logs. Keep ProBot for the rest.

Invite Quark, run /logging and choose your log channels. Quark starts posting straight away. Then switch off the logs in ProBot's dashboard so each event is only logged once. Your old ProBot log messages stay where they are.

Yes. The free plan includes every log type, a channel for each category of log, ignore rules and the live web viewer, and it keeps the content of deleted messages that are up to 12 hours old. Quark Pro extends that to 4 weeks and adds 30 days of searchable log history on the web, CSV export, and the moderator behind server mutes and deafens.
