The short answer

How do you block scam links on Discord?

To block scam links on Discord, check every link against a list of known phishing addresses and act on a match. Quark's automations do this with a ready-made list of about 21,900 scam domains, refreshed daily. A rule can flag the log, alert your moderators, and on Quark Pro delete the message and time out whoever posted it. Discord's AutoMod can stop a message as it is posted.

Key facts

  • Quark's scam link list has about 21,900 addresses, from a public phishing list, refreshed once a day.
  • A rule can also catch any link that isn't on your own list of allowed sites.
  • Quark sees a message when it is edited or deleted, not the moment it is posted.
  • Flagging a log and alerting moderators work on every plan. Deleting and timing out need Quark Pro.
  • On Free and Pro Lite, up to 3 rules that need Quark Pro run as previews, in dry run.
  • Quark is used in 114,000+ Discord servers.

Scam links

A list you don't have to keep.

Phishing domains come and go by the hundred. Quark's list of them is fetched from a public source every day, so a rule that uses it stays current without anyone editing it.

From nikolaischunk/discord-phishing-links, refreshed once a day. A download that looks wrong is thrown away and yesterday's list kept.

Or only the sites you allow

“Has a link that isn't on” your list catches every other address. Subdomains count as their site, and the alert can name the link it found.

Edited in after the fact

Rules run when a message is edited or deleted, so a link swapped in later is checked too.

Every action logged

Flag the log and alert your moderators on any plan. On Quark Pro, delete the message and time out the sender, recorded as a Rule Action log.

Quark or AutoMod

AutoMod stops it at the door. Quark keeps the list.

They do different jobs, and the table says where each one is the better choice.

AutoMod as Discord's auto moderation documentation described it on 15 October 2026. Most servers are best served by both: AutoMod at the door, Quark for what it can't see.

“Quark's detailed logging and ease of use provides a huge helping hand in our server moderation.”

Discord scam link blocker FAQ

No. Quark's rules run on logs, and a message is logged when it is edited or deleted, so Quark acts after the fact. Discord's AutoMod checks a message as it is sent or edited, and can block it; use it for that, and Quark for what it adds: a list of about 21,900 scam domains kept up to date for you, where an AutoMod keyword rule holds 1,000 entries you write yourself, and a check for any link that isn't on your allowed list.

From nikolaischunk/discord-phishing-links, a public list of phishing domains aimed at Discord users, under the MIT licence. Quark fetches it once a day and keeps the last good copy if a download looks wrong.

Yes. Make a list of the sites you allow, and a rule with the condition "the links in the message has a link that isn't on" your list. A subdomain counts as its site, so discord.com covers ptb.discord.com. The alert can name the link with {match}.

Web addresses are matched as addresses, so a look-alike domain only matches if it is on the list. For words, a list can catch disguised spellings: look-alike letters, numbers for letters and repeated letters.

Yes. Flagging a log and alerting a channel work on every plan. A rule that deletes or times out needs Quark Pro, and on Free or Pro Lite up to three such rules can run as previews: they count what they would have done, without doing it.

Yes. The free plan includes every log type, a channel for each category of log, ignore rules and the live web viewer, and it keeps the content of deleted messages that are up to 12 hours old. Quark Pro extends that to 4 weeks and adds 30 days of searchable log history on the web, CSV export, and the moderator behind server mutes and deafens.
